Desperate Housewives

Tetiba aku rasa nak bercerita pasal siri TV yang boleh kata famous lah: Desperate Housewives. Atau lebih tepat, saja nak bagitau apa aku rasa tentang siri baru ni. Aku bukan lah peminat setia cerita ni. Tengok pun kadang-kadang je. Pasal selalu aku terlupa nak tengok hehehehe.

Apa yang best sangat cerita ni? Tak dinafikan cerita ni memang cukup popular sekarang. Aku pun teruja juga tunggu cerita ni dimainkan kat stesen TV di Malaysia. Lebih-lebih lagi bila Oprah had invited the casts to her show for several times. (I love Oprah Winfrey show)

Tapi bila aku tengok beberapa episod, hmm... cemana nak cakap ek? Mungkin cara pemikiran aku ni tak sama macam orang lain. Tapi aku rasa cerita ni agak kurang sesuai dengan tatacara hidup masyarakat kat Malaysia ni. Are the wives in Malaysia look that 'desperate'? Well, probably true in some cases but with the 'adat' and culture of Malaysians, we manage to cover it well.

Aku rasa sebenarnya cerita ini agak kurang sesuai untuk tontotan umum kat Malaysia. Though, it is actually a different kind of style in a storyline. Which, is good in the industry but not good if we wanna make it as a role model for our community.

Ok cuba kita tengok satu per satu watak-watak utama dalam cerita ni. We start off with Edie Britt (Nicollette Sheridan) a serial divorcee. Well, she is not one of the top four main actresses, but she is one of the icon in this drama series. Hehehe aku ni bila fikir watak Edie, aku terfikir, ada ke sebenarnya orang yang macam ni. I dont think we do, at least in Malaysian's community. But then in Oprah, it was proved that I was wrong. There are some people (very very few in fact, but still... there are some people), that really behave like this Edie Britt. Well, for Malaysians, please dont be like her, I mean Edie Britt.

Bree Van De Kamp (Marcia Cross), well at the beginning of the series, I believe she is one of the 'almost-perfect' wife with a perfect life. Everything is under her control. But towards the end of the first season, we can see how her family life is ruining. Her husband was having an affair and the children had their problems.

Susan Mayer (Teri Hatcher) the divorcee and single mom who will go to extraordinary lengths for love, and it tells on the first season how desperate she is to get Mike's intention. Kelakar juga watak Susan ni. Menggelabah betul. Pada aku agak menarik pengolahan watak Susan ni. On second tot, memang ada di antara masyarakat kita yang agak kelam kabut sikit, probably not as bad as her hehehehe... But then bila dipaparkan di TV agak menarik dan kelakar pula. At the same time, kesian pun ada.

Lynette Scavo (Felicity Huffman), who left her career to be a stay-at-home mother of four. Next season, she will be back to her fast track career in advertising. I love her role. Her four kids were so damn naughty, or I would rather said hyper-active. Tapi aku rasa antara banyak-banyak watak, watak Lynette ni lebih 'real' dengan kehidupan kita. Ramai wanita kat luar sana, yang ada karier yang kukuh. Tapi sanggup tinggalkan karier masing-masing demi untuk keluarga. Well, it is just so true, right?

Last but not least, the most desperado one, Gabrielle Solis (Eva Longoria), the ex-model with everything she's ever wanted - a rich husband, a big house, and a scandal with her garderner, John. Next season, she will learn that she will be having a baby… the problem is she's not sure who the father is. Aha... well, put aside her misbehave role in this series, I like her appearance. Her petite look and body just make her look so complete. Well, again, that's my opinion.

But all in all, aku tak berapa pasti kalau siri baru ni patut jadi tontonan semua masyarakat Malaysia. Kita kaya dengan adat, budi bahasa dan budaya yang mana tidak ada dalam siri ini. Tapi samada untuk menonton siri ini atau tidak, bergantung pada individu. Tepuk dada tanya selera. Ada yang gemar siri ini, ada yang mungkin 'satu kapal' dengan saya - kurang gemar akan siri ini dan mungkin ada yang langsung tak pernah ambil kisah.
